Pool Party Recap

H2electrO Album Release & Pool Party Recap

To celebrate the release of our latest collaboration, H2electrO, DJ Stylez and I threw the pool party event of the summer with some help from VALA Entertainment & VALA Events. A good friend of ours was kind enough to lend us his backyard that had an amazing view of Orange Country, which was a little far for some to drive, but was a perfect location for this event.

We estimated 60-70 people came through our event that consisted of a Taco Cart, Open Bar, Floating Beer Pong and obviously good music. The event started off with an opening DJ set by Wolfeman that contained the Love Boat Theme, quotes from Dazed and Confused and the Rubber Duckie song. Because it’s not a pool party without a rubber duck.

DJ Arnold Lara got on the decks next and set the crowd up perfectly for DJ Stylez and I to perform the H2electrO mix live. Stylez and I rocked our set, then, as promised, immediately entered the pool front flip and elbow drop style (see all photos from the event HERE). After that, we all just hung out in the pool, at the bar or in the hot tub. It was just a bunch of good people having a good time, so let’s do it again next year!

Special thanks to Dan Bowman for the doing the album artwork and of course thanks to everyone who’s download our mix, made it to the pool party and has supported me and my fellow DJs over the years. I promise to keep putting out good music for you.

It’s Just Begun

Since I last posted an entry I’ve had a lot of new projects going on behind the scenes.  Besides getting VALA Clothing off the ground, I’m working on producing original music, making DJ Roueche remixes of today’s hottest songs and simply working on my DJ craft.  What I’m most excited about right now is a project I’m doing with my musician friend, Andrew Pompey.  We had a gig together a couple weeks ago with me on the turntables and Andrew rocking the conga drums.

You can check out more photos from the Light Up Cerritos Event in the
Event Photos area on the DJ Roueche website.

Andrew and I rocked the Light Up Cerritos Event and we received great feedback from the crowd and the people that hired us.  We jammed for almost 2 hours as the VIP guest arrived and continued after the lighting ceremony for the new artwork designed specifically for the Los Cerritos Center.

Since that gig, Andrew and I have been working on a mix that’s going to blow your mind, especially when you see it live.  We’ve been rehearsing weekly and we are about set to go into the studio to record it.  Look for our mixtape coming soon and I will keep you posted on LIVE shows.  I’m stoked for this collaboration and I know you’re going to enjoy it as well.

DJ & Conga Drummer

Had a rehearsal today with my friend/percussionist, Andrew Pompey.  You may remember him as we’ve performed together before.  We did some events at Sangria on their RED WEDNESDAY back  in 2008.

Well, we’re back together and we got a gig May 7th in Cerritos, CA.  We will be the musical entertainment for the “Light Up Cerritos” celebration.  I’m looking forward to jamming with Andrew again and you can expect to see/hear more things from us this year.  We’re already in process of working on a mixtape.  I’ll keep you posted.

For those of you who’ve downloaded my latest promo mix, And You’re Welcome, I hope it will hold you over until Labor Day of this year.  That will most likely be the last mix, with the exception of the mixtape with Andrew, that I’ll be dropping until DJ Stylez and I bring you the 2nd edition of our Labor Day Transformation Mix series.
If you haven’t downloaded your copy of the “And You’re Welcome” mix, you must be signed up to the DJ Roueche e-newsletter.  You can sign up at the Contact Me Page of the DJ Roueche website or at the DJ Roueche Facebook Page.  Once you sign up, you’ll get an email with the link to the mix.
